Remote Video Inspections (RVIs) can be a cost-effective alternative to in-person physical inspections. Inspections are required by the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and other HUD programs. RVIs may be used in routine, non-routine, and emergency situations to help HUD fulfill its oversight responsibilities, reduce costs, and limit exposure to unsafe conditions.
