HUD is pleased to announce Using Motivational Interviewing – a webinar designed for Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Service Coordinators.

This webinar focuses on the use of motivational interviewing techniques, related both to initial engagement and ongoing involvement as well as addressing challenges experienced by program participants. This live webinar provides an opportunity for question and answer.

This webinar is the third in a series of three webinars designed to present in-depth information for use by ROSS Service Coordinators. The goal of this series is to present best practice information on resident engagement strategies, connection with career pathways, and use of motivational interviewing. To view materials from past webinars, visit the ROSS Program page. Materials from this webinar will be posted as they become available.

Training Objectives

This webinar teaches ROSS Service Coordinators:

  • The basis for the use of motivational interviewing techniques
  • The elements of those techniques
  • How to effectively apply these techniques in the ROSS Service Coordinator context
