Re-Housing Individuals Experiencing Homelessness from COVID-Specific Non-Congregate Shelter Webinar

HUD's Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Division, and the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) hosted a webinar to discuss strategies for re-housing individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in non-congregate shelter (NCS) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic into safe, stable permanent housing.
Participants heard from the State of Connecticut and Indianapolis, IN about their respective efforts for re-housing individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in NCS into permanent housing. There was also an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
Training Objectives
Participants learned:
- What COVID-specific NCS is and how to request FEMA reimbursement for NCS costs
- Why it is so important to have a strategy to re-house individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in NCS in safe, stable permanent housing
- Strategies and resources that can be used to re-house individuals sheltering in NCS, including financial and community partners to help implement these strategies
