Public Housing Authority Financial Management Training
Training, resources, and tools to improve the financial performance of PHAs throughout the United States
Sponsored by HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing, Office of Field Operations, this training focuses on internal controls and financial management topics related to the public housing and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) programs. Designed to be practical with a discussion of real-life examples, the training also provides best practices and tools that Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) can readily implement. The training provides an interactive approach with eight Learning Activities incorporated into the training topics.
In addition to the 13 financial management training modules covering a variety of financial management topics, HUD is making available numerous financial management resources. Users may access and download several sample policies and procedures to adapt and use to assist in PHA financial management. There are several templates, including for example, templates for board reporting and procuring financial management related services.
After completing the training, HUD encourages users to get credit, and fill out the feedback form. Users can follow the Get Credit Instructions to add this training to their HUD Exchange learner transcript.
