NOTE: This webinar provides instructions to categorize VA Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans (VA DOM) beds as Transitional Housing, but those instructions have been superseded.

This webinar, held on October 25, 2011 as part of the Ready, SET, Go! webinar series, presents the new requirements for completing the 2012 Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and the Point-in-Time (PIT) count, as well as reviews existing data collection guidance for the 2012 HIC and PIT count. After this webinar was recorded, conversations between VA and HUD led to the determination that VA DOM beds should be categorized as Emergency Shelter beds in 2012, as they were in 2011. Therefore, all VA DOM beds should be recorded on the HIC as Emergency Shelter beds, and people in VA DOM beds on the night of the PIT count should be included in the counts of persons in emergency shelter.
