OEE Updates to HUD's ASD Requirements for Propane Tanks Webinar

The Office of Environment and Energy (OEE) hosted a webinar to provide information on the recently published final rule, “Conforming the Acceptable Separation Distance (ASD) Standards for Residential Propane Tanks to Industry Standards” (85 FR 4225, January 24, 2020).
This final rule excludes certain propane tanks from HUD’s ASD requirements, in relation to HUD’s environmental review process. The webinar explained these changes and how to determine compliance with the revised regulation.
Training Objectives
Participants learned:
- Recent changes to HUD’s regulation at 24 CFR 51, Subpart C, excluding aboveground storage tanks of 1,000 gallons or less containing liquefied petroleum gas or propane from the ASD requirements of that subpart
- How to apply the updated 24 CFR 51, Subpart C exception to environmental review records they prepare pursuant to 24 CFR Parts 50 and 58
