This series will provide an overview of the information needed for homeownership counseling. This course will include basic skills such as:

  • What a lender is looking for in a client
  • How to put together a loan package that will get approved the first time
  • How to walk client through a loan estimate
  • Preparing your client financially for owning a home
  • How to pre-underwrite the loan before the lender does
  • How to package a loan for approval
  • Teaching the numbers confidently
  • How to stave off the scammers post purchase

With a focus on coaching the client, this course will give a new counselor the first steps towards effective one-on-one counseling sessions with prospective homeowners. This is part three of a three-part series.
