NCRC Training: How to Respond to Client Mental Health Challenges During COVID-19
May 20, 2020 | 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT
This training focuses on gaining a greater understanding of mental health disorders, the effect they have on overall well-being, and the impact of COVID-19 on people with mental health challenges.
This training also helps housing counselors learn how to enhance existing observational and reflective listening skills to enable them to confidently have conversations around the topic of mental health and COVID-19. Participants gain a greater awareness of the appropriate interventions when working with clients with potential mental health challenges.
Lastly, the training provides self-care strategies to prevent housing counselors' overwhelm, burn out, and fatigue.
