This lecture provides an introduction to work incentives. It describes the importance of considering them when helping people who are homeless seek work, and it offers suggestions about working with people who are homeless to ensure they understand and make the most of available work incentives. This lecture is targeted to those who provide services to homeless and formerly homeless jobseekers, including the staff of homeless assistance agencies and workforce development agencies. The focus is primarily on serving homeless adults. However, much of the information contained in this lecture and pamphlet will also be useful if you are helping older adolescents.
