This webinar will bring together housing counseling agencies (HCAs) and state and local emergency management officials to learn how collaboration can benefit their communities when preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters.

An emergency management official along with a local HCA will highlight how a working relationship can enhance emergency preparedness and response, and how to sustain these relationships over time. Specific examples will be provided of how HCAs can support wider emergency preparedness and response efforts to achieve more equitable outcomes and more rapid recovery for renters and homeowners.

Training Objectives:

Participants will learn about:

  • The role of HCAs and emergency management offices in preparing for disaster
  • Ways HCAs and emergency management officials can collaborate to enhance disaster preparedness
  • How collaboration between HCAs and emergency management officials can promote equitable disaster recovery
