Housing Counseling Webinar: How Agencies Can Help Clients Leverage the Child Tax Credit

Many families are struggling financially and the Child Tax Credit is an opportunity to help them cover their expenses, especially as kids return to school. HUD is engaging with the Treasury and the White House to help enroll eligible families in the Child Tax Credit, with a particular focus on families that may not usually file taxes and may be in need of financial support.

The webinar, published September 28, 2021, provided housing counseling agencies with an overview of the Child Tax Credit and walked through the enrollment portal to help clients enroll in this historic Child Tax Credit. Experts estimate the new Child Tax Credit has the potential to cut child poverty in half. It provides the largest child tax credit ever and historic relief to the most working families ever.
