HOPWA Intake, Initial, and Annual Recertification – Using Remote, Virtual, and Other Methods
August 26, 2020 | 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
Online
HUD’s Office of HIV/AIDS Housing (OHH), with support from Cloudburst, hosted a webinar on conducting intake, initial, and annual recertification using remote methods, including virtual platforms. Use of remote methods ensures that people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) receive necessary services to obtain and maintain medical care and stable permanent housing.
But what does it mean to conduct intake, initial, and annual recertification virtually? How do you manage and implement different remote methods? This webinar:
- Covered important topics regarding using remote methods
- Provided an overview of HUD’s memo released on April 1, 2020 permitting grantees and project sponsors to rely upon a family member’s self-certification of income and credible information on their HIV status in lieu of source documentation to determine eligibility for HOPWA assistance
- Showed an example of using video conferencing to conduct initial HOPWA eligibility determination
