The Office of HIV/AIDS Housing (OHH) hosted this webinar for Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) formula and competitive grantees and project sponsors related to expanded opportunities to use HOPWA supportive services activities as part of a community’s strategic response to COVID-19.
The webinar provided information on how HOPWA-funded supportive services, such as nutrition and transportation services, can be used to respond to and protect individuals and households from COVID-19. Presenters covered the two memorandums explaining the availability of waivers:
- CPD Memo: Availability of Waivers of CPD Grant Program and Consolidated Plan Requirements to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 and Mitigate Economic Impacts Caused by COVID-19 for CoC, ESG, and HOPWA
- CPD Memo: Availability of Additional Waivers for CPD Grant Programs to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 and Mitigate Economic Impacts Caused by COVID-19
Presenters also outlined guidance and other programmatic flexibilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to facilitate assistance to eligible households.
OHH staff and Technical Assistance (TA) providers provided information and answer participant questions related to the use of supportive services as a strategy and covered some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) posed by HOPWA grantees and project sponsors on funding supportive services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
