Empowerment Zone (EZ) Tax Incentives Webcast

May 30, 2013 | 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST

In this webcast, a panel of experts from HUD and IRS will describe the tax incentives available to businesses in Empowerment Zones; including employment credits, work opportunity tax credits (WOTC), Section 179 deductions, Facility Bonds and Qualified Zone Academy Bonds (QZABS), if the EZ takes the required steps to extend their designation period. The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, H.R. 8 contains provisions allowing the designation of EZs to remain in place through December 31 2013. Formal guidance on extending the designation of an EZ has not yet been released; however, interested parties can refer to the HUD or IRS websites for updates.
