These three videos highlight lessons learned and key factors to consider in addressing the intersection of HIV and intimate partner violence (IPV), which includes domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Part I: Addressing the Intersection of HIV & Intimate Partner Violence
Part I of this training assists participants:
- Realize how HIV impacts victims of domestic violence and why partnerships are needed
- Develop an understanding of what is needed for a strong partnership
- Gather information on how survivors & individuals living with HIV can be involved in developing these relationships
Part II: Addressing the Intersection of HIV & Intimate Partner Violence
Part II of this training assists participants:
- Create access to services
- Build partnerships between housing and service providers
- Engage with survivors and people living with HIV
Peer to Peer Discussion: Addressing the Intersection of HIV & Intimate Partner Violence
The peer discussion provides information on successful collaborations among providers in three U.S. communities that received funding through the Violence Against Women Act and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (VAWA/HOPWA) Initiative, jointly funded by HUD and the Department of Justice (DOJ). It also includes a short description of the intersectionality challenges related to accessing housing and services for persons living with HIV who experience intimate partner violence.
