2021 National Homeownership Month: HECM 101
June 28, 2021
June was National Homeownership Month (NHM), officially declared by Presidential Proclamation since 2002. During this month, HUD celebrates the benefits that homeownership brings to individuals and families across the nation. In addition, the Biden Administration has expressed its ongoing commitment to affordable, sustainable homeownership and work is underway to recognize and address the systemic racial equity issues that have historically excluded communities of color.
A number of events designed to educate and inform various stakeholders and consumers were hosted throughout the month to reinforce HUD's work in addressing COVID-19's impact on housing and the barriers that limit access to homeownership. Learn more about 2021 National Homeownership Month.
This webinar, published on June 28, 2021, provided an overview of the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) program, the Federal Housing Administration's (FHA) reverse mortgage program.
