2020 ConnectHomeUSA - Tips on Handling Robocalls and Internet Scams from the FCC

February 25, 2020 | 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST

Have you ever received an unwanted robocall or an unwanted email? Is your email full of spam mail that you don't know what to do with?

In the age of robocalls, scam emails, and unwanted text messages, it can be difficult to know how to protect devices and personal information. ConnectHomeUSA hosted a webinar with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that addressed these issues.

Keyla Hernandez, the Associate Chief of Consumer Affairs and Outreach, outlined strategies to help you identify robocalls as well as tips on how to recognize other harmful communications tactics like cramming, slamming, text, and email scams. The FCC had a lot of resources for consumers, and Keyla provided an of overview of the FCC Consumer Help Center, which can be a resource for Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and residents!
