The Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Data and Mapping Tool (AFFH-T) Video Series will help everyone involved in fair housing planning learn how the AFFH-T and other local data sources can be used to analyze local conditions as part of a fair housing planning process.
These videos are intended for everyone involved in fair housing planning, including but not limited to staff and leadership of HOME Partnership Program (HOME), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) grantees, Public Housing Agencies (PHAs), program administrators, and others engaging in fair housing planning.
The AFFH-T is a dynamic online mapping and data-generating tool for communities to aid in their completion of fair housing planning. The data provided in the AFFH-T is not exhaustive and should not supplant local data or knowledge that is more robust. It represents a baseline effort to assemble consistent, nationally available data from a variety of sources compiled into one location.
This video provides a high-level introduction to the AFFH-T. The video covers information on all basic features of the AFFH-T, including data sources, how to export data tables, and how to manipulate maps using filters.
This video provides a detailed walk-through of the AFFH-T. This video will walk viewers through using the tool and provide examples of how the tool has been used to analyze local fair housing conditions and complete meaningful fair housing planning.
This video helps to build the capacity of HUD program participants to find and use local data during their fair housing planning efforts, including how to collect publicly available data, or partner with local institutions to collect or generate useful data.
