Housing Case Management Services

A case manager may want to conduct a housing assessment to gather information from clients about their past and current living situations and their barriers to maintaining housing. Understanding the problems a client has experienced in the past is essential to getting and keeping clients housed in the future.

Once a case manager understands a client's barriers, he or she should work with the client to develop a plan to address those barriers. Case managers providing housing search assistance will often need to help clients with issues related to budgeting and planning, repairing credit or rental histories, and understanding the rules and responsibilities related to renting an apartment.
