This six-hour training curriculum is intended for those training Supportive Housing Program (SHP) service providers in developing employment and vocational programs for tenants. Part of the Supportive Housing Training Series, it includes an overview of employment support services, a discussion on career counseling, information on providing in-house employment, guidelines for defining program goals, strategies for program staffing, and information on managing entitlements. It also discusses employment programs for tenants with various special needs and includes a small-group exercise with case studies on special needs. It provides a range of participant materials, including informational handouts that providers may distribute to tenants.
