Many Continuums of Care (CoCs) rely on volunteers to support their annual Point-in-Time (PIT) count efforts. This page hosts a collection of resources to support CoCs in training and providing supplemental resources to volunteers to conduct PIT counts.
CoCs should refer to HUD's most current Notice for Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and PIT Data Collection for CoC and Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Programs to ensure volunteers are trained to collect data in a way consistent with that year’s PIT count requirements. CoCs should also refer to HUD's Point-in-Time Count Methodology Guide for standards and guidance concerning acceptable methodologies and approaches to conducting PIT counts.
Visit the HIC and PIT Count Guides, Tools, and Webinars page for more resources.
