These documents are for historical reference only. eCart cannot be used to report on ESG after September 30, 2017. For more guidance on submitting ESG CAPERs, view the ESG CAPER Guides Tools and Webinars page.
eCart (Version 5) must be used with all ESG CAPER CSV exports generated on or after October 1, 2016. Prior versions of eCart should no longer be used as they will not properly import the updated ESG CAPER CSV (Version 5). If you have questions about the eCart, please submit a question through the HUD Exchange Ask a Question (AAQ) portal for assistance. On Step 2 of the question submission process, select “ESG: Emergency Solutions Grants” in the “My question is related to” dropdown and include “eCart” in the subject line for your question.
Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) recipients will use this tool to report aggregated ESG Program report information. eCart is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that is configured to load report level, aggregate information from a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and produce all statistical information required by HUD on program participants served in ESG-funded projects. The information in eCart replaces all data previously collected on screen CR-65 in the eCon Planning Suite.
eCart v5 updates include changes to the 2014 HMIS Data Standards Version 5, and the addition of project Type 11 – Day Shelter and validation for project types. Recipients should discard older versions of eCart and use the newly-released eCart v5 for their 2016 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) submission.
