This user guide provides information on maintaining confidentiality for HOPWA providers of all types – including grantees, project sponsors, subcontractors, and subrecipients – in all the roles they may serve – including program administrators, managers, front-line staff, and monitors. The purpose of the guide is to help HOPWA providers sort through the questions that arise when protecting confidential client information. The guide presents various “best practices” outlining suggested steps that HOPWA providers can take to protect client information. A checklist is included as an Appendix and provides a quick reference for implementing confidentiality practices.
