Since the publication of this notice, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA 2013) has expanded the number of HUD programs subject to the statue’s protections beyond HUD’s public housing and section 8 tenant-based and project-based programs. HUD’s Federal Register Notice on VAWA 2013 highlights the key changes and provides an overview of key provisions applicable to HUD programs. HUD’s Proposed Rule on VAWA 2013 amends HUD’s original regulations to fully implement the requirements of the 2013 reauthorized act.
