ROSS Service Coordinators who work with elderly people and persons with disabilities can benefit from developing close working relationships with local organizations that serve either or both of these groups. Organizations such as Area Agencies on Aging and local senior centers, as well as the local government office on aging, can be gateways to a wide array of valuable services for older adults, including to promote healthy aging in place, food and nutrition assistance, transportation, and enrichment programs. Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) offer a single, centralized place to find information on public and private programs, streamlining access to long-term supports and services for elderly people and persons with disabilities.
