This comprehensive toolkit is available to ensure that public housing authorities (PHAs) have resources to inform residents about HUD’s Public Housing Minimum Rent and Hardship Exemption requirements. All materials provided in the toolkit are available in Word. PHAs are encouraged to download the materials and insert their PHA’s name and specific policy information as noted in each document. Each resource is also available in Chinese (Simplified); Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan); Haitian Creole; Korean; Spanish; and Vietnamese.

This fact sheet can be customized and used by PHAs to explain the Minimum Rent-Hardship Exemption to residents.
These templates, including a postcard (or flyer) and doorhanger, can be customized and used by PHAs to conduct outreach to residents. These files are compressed into a .zip file.
This optional checklist and form can be customized and used by PHAs with residents requesting the Hardship Exemption. Please note that use of this form is not required for residents to request the Hardship Exemption.
