Housing Linked with Services for Persons with Disabilities

Accessibility

Accessibility

Are there resources to help us make our property more accessible for persons with physical disabilities?

Tenants with disabilities or those aging in place may require access modifications that were not included in the original project design. This might include ramping the entryway, adding railings, or making bath facilities fully wheelchair accessible. Modifications such as these can help persons with disabilities or elderly tenants stay in their homes and out of long-term care facilities.

The National Directory of Home Modification and Repair Resources lists home modification and repair programs and businesses from across the country. The University of Southern California (USC) has a resource page that includes links to many other resources including specific products to enhance accessibility.

For sources of funds for capital improvements generally, including but not limited to accessibility, see our Capital Improvements page.
