MTW Expansion Training

Program Requirements that Can be Waived Under MTW

The MTW Operations Notice specifies the types of waivers available to MTW agencies and stipulates the processes MTW agencies must follow prior to using each type of waiver. This training:

  • Explains the four types of waivers available to MTW agencies: MTW Waivers, Safe Harbor Waivers, Agency-Specific Waivers, and Cohort-Specific Waivers.
  • Provides quick access to the text of pre-approved MTW Waivers (as listed in Appendix I of the MTW Operations Notice).
  • Describes the processes required prior to implementing pre-approved MTW Waivers and for requesting approval of Safe Harbor and Agency-Specific Waivers.

Be sure to review the Program Requirements that Cannot Be Waived section of this training as your agency thinks about possible waivers.
