The Social Media 101 Toolkit provides counselors with the knowledge needed to establish a social media presence and engage with consumers online. Within this toolkit, counselors will find everything they need to disseminate information about HUD-approved housing counseling to their valued clients and ultimately increase awareness of HUD-approved housing counseling.
The Media Relations Toolkit assists Housing Counseling Agencies (HCAs) in understanding how the local media in their communities are powerful influencers of consumers and can work to engage with them to raise awareness about counseling services. This toolkit provides best practices and tips for communicating with the media to help agencies with their media relations outreach.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released the Homeowner's Guide to Success as part of a public-private partnership between federal agencies and industry partners. The guide provides homeowners with information on the critical first steps to take if they are at risk of missing a mortgage payment or facing foreclosure.

On June 23, 2020, the Office of Housing Counseling hosted a panel discussion on social distancing and its effect on the housing industry. This virtual discussion explored the innovative concepts the industry is using to meet the challenges and demands posed in this current environment.
To celebrate Homeownership Month, the Office of Housing Counseling (OHC) hosted a half day conference, Building Tomorrow Together, to explore emerging housing counseling industry issues.
