Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee

The Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC) was established to advise HUD’s Office of Housing Counseling (OHC) to meet its mission to provide individuals and families with the knowledge they need to obtain, sustain, and improve their housing through a strong national network of HUD-approved housing counseling agencies and HUD certified counselors. The HCFAC consists of 12 individuals. The memberships represent the mortgage and real estate industry, consumers and HUD-approved housing counseling agencies.

Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC) Vacancy

This Federal Register Notice announced a recent vacancy on the HCFAC. HUD is seeking nominations for an individual whose experience is representative of the real estate industry to fill the vacant seat. Individuals may nominate themselves. Applications were due on June 21, 2017.

HCFAC Meeting - February 8, 2017

The Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC) convened a public meeting from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM EDT on Wednesday, February 8th, 2017 via teleconference. Twenty-four members of the public registered to attend.

HCFAC Meeting Webcast - November 1, 2016

HUD convened the first meeting of the HCFAC on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The meeting was held at HUD Headquarters, 451 7th Street SW., Washington, DC 20410 and via conference phone. The public was invited to attend. Details about the meeting and the meeting registration process have been published in a recent Federal Register Notice.
