COVID-19 Outreach Materials for HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agencies

HUD’s Office of Housing Counseling is making materials available to HUD-approved housing counseling agencies, housing finance agencies, and intermediaries to assist you in reaching those struggling to make their mortgage payments as a result of COVID-19.

HUD-approved housing counseling agencies may use these materials if they choose, but use is not mandatory. You may customize these materials by adding agency-specific logos and contact information at the bottom. Translations in additional languages will be added soon.

The financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to affect the housing stability of the nation’s individuals and families. During this unprecedented national emergency, HUD-approved housing counseling agencies and the counselors they employ continue to play a critical role. You’re helping struggling homeowners understand their options for immediate relief from the worries of foreclosure and eviction. You’re working with clients to obtain a forbearance pause in their mortgage payments. As housing counselors, you’re also on the front lines of explaining to so many the available options for re-establishing sustainable homeownership post-forbearance.

COVID-19 is an historic challenge, but HUD-approved housing counseling agencies continue to prove, time and again, that they are both up to the challenge and integral to reaching those who are most in need of assistance. To help you address this challenge, I am pleased to offer the electronic materials below to assist HUD-approved housing counseling agencies with their client outreach.

Thank you for all you’re doing to support the nation’s housing needs during this challenging time.

This outreach campaign highlights emergency rental assistance programs for renters facing eviction or struggling financially due to COVID-19. Each file contains a QR code for renters to scan with their smart phones to access eviction prevention resources on HUD.gov. Housing counseling agencies are encouraged to use these materials in their communities. Housing counseling agencies are also able to download and edit the word versions of the flyers, which are customizable with the name and logo of a housing counseling agency.

There are four outreach campaigns targeted to eviction prevention below for housing counseling agencies to use in their community.

Please see the Spanish outreach messages document for messages in Spanish that can be included with the Spanish versions of the materials.
