Partner Commitment
The Better Buildings Multifamily Initiative is comprised of two voluntary leadership initiatives whereby multifamily property owners and managers make a commitment with regards to their property portfolio and share their annual progress and lessons learned with the public. HUD and the Department of Energy (DOE) work together to support Challenge partners in overcoming obstacles on their journeys and highlight their good work. Each Challenge Partner commits to:
Better Climate Challenge (BCC)
Pledge
Pledge an organization-wide Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction of at least 50 percent within 10 years.
Share Expertise
Contribute to peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and participate in working groups around key issues.
Report
Report results annually by sharing energy performance and emissions data that demonstrates success.
Better Building Challenge (BBC)
Pledge
Pledge an organization-wide energy savings goal of at least 20 percent within 10 years.
Share Expertise
Participate in peer-to-peer knowledge exchange through the publication of case studies and participation in working groups.
Report
Report results annually by sharing energy performance data that demonstrates success.
