Period of Performance Ending for FY 2019 and FY 2020 Comprehensive Housing Counseling Grants

February 04, 2021 Print ShareThis

The periods of performance for both the FY 2019 and FY 2020 Comprehensive Housing Counseling (CHC) grants end on March 31, 2021. Grantees will have 90 calendar days after the period of performance end date to submit the final report, including the final draw request and required narratives. Funds remaining after the final draw request is processed are subject to recapture.

For the FY 2020 funds only, grantees can request a performance period extension of up to twelve months by submitting in writing a justification explaining:

  • The necessity of the requested extension
  • The specific time frame of the proposed extension
  • How the funds will be effectively spent within the proposed extension period

Grantees should submit this request and justification to their HUD Point of Contact (POC) as soon as possible, but no later than March 1, 2021 (30 days prior to the end of the period of performance).

For information on final report requirements and extensions, grantees should refer to their grant agreements (Article III Period of Performance and Article XI Reporting). For information on the proper and timely expenditure of grant funds, grantees can also refer to OHC’s Managing Expenditures and Avoiding Recaptures Toolkit.
