Explore the highlights of the key lead-based paint evaluations to meet compliance with HUD’s Lead Safe Housing Rule (24 CFR Part 35) for pre-1978 HUD-assisted housing.

The videos include expertise from certified lead risk assessors/inspectors and HUD.

These videos are relevant to HUD grantees and their subgrantees/subrecipients administering programs assisting pre-1978 housing.

It is important that HUD grantees following the Lead Safe Housing Rule (LSHR) understand key elements of evaluation activities, including:

  • Lead-Based Paint Inspection
  • Risk Assessment
  • Family Interview for Environmental Investigations
  • Clearance Examination

Visit the Lead-Based Paint page on the HUD Exchange for more information and resources on the LSHR and other federal lead regulations.
