Important Updates for the 2014 Point-in-Time and Housing Inventory Count
HUD published an update to the Notice for Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and Point-in-Time (PIT) Data Collection for Continuums of Care (CoC). The revisions clarify that on the veteran population tables, CoCs must collect and report data on the total number of veteran households, the total number of veterans, and the total number of persons in veteran households. However, the demographic reporting for the veteran population tables must be limited to veteran only data (see Appendix C of the Notice).
- Preparing for Your 2014 Housing Inventory and Point-In-Time Counts: a webinar that highlights the changes for the HIC and PIT for the 2014 count.
- HUD Point-in-Time Survey Tools and Mobile App Overview: a webinar that provides an overview of the PIT survey tools and mobile PIT app. HUD strongly recommends that people review this webinar even if they do not intend to use the mobile PIT app.
- Mobile PIT app: the app is available for download through Google Play and the Apple store (select the links to access the mobile PIT app downloads):
CoCs that intend to use the mobile app must take additional steps in order to use the app for their count. CoCs should review the HUD Point-in-Time Survey Tools and Mobile App Overview webinar and submit any question to the Ask a Question page on HUD’s OneCPD Resource Exchange for additional information.
If you have questions about the HIC or PIT, please submit them at the Ask a Question page. On Step 2, select HDX: Homelessness Data Exchange (Including PIT, HIC, and AHAR) from the My question is related to drop down.
