HUD Appoints New Members to the Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee and Announces Future Expansion

On September 24, 2021, HUD announced the appointment of six new members to its Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee and the re-appointment of two current members of the Committee. Additionally, HUD announced that it intends to expand the Committee in the future from eight members to the 12 members authorized by statute. Additional members will represent the mortgage industry, the real estate industry, consumers, and HUD-approved housing counseling agencies. HUD will publish a notice in the Federal Register in the future with more details on the expansion and to seek nominations for the four newly created members.
