Register Today: Part 58 Environmental Review Training (Region V) - Chicago, IL - June 11-13, 2019
Region V is pleased to announce a training for HUD Region V grantees and partners that prepare 24 CFR Part 58 environmental reviews. The training is a live, in person training provided at the HUD Regional Field Office in Chicago, IL.
This is an intermediate level training, focusing on the related laws and authorities under 24 CFR Part 58. This 3-day training will go in-depth on sixteen topics including:
- Noise assessment
- Explosive and flammable operations
- Site contamination and toxic substances
- Air quality
- Endangered species
- Wild and scenic rivers
- Floodplain and wetland management
- Coastal zone management
- Coastal barrier resources
- Airport hazards
- Historic preservation
- Farmland protection
- Sole source aquifers
- Environmental justice
- Environmental factors
- Flood insurance
The training will also provide an overview of the HUD Environmental Review Online System (HEROS) and how to document compliance with the laws and authorities addressed in the training.
Attendees are required to complete the Web-Based Instructional System for Environmental Reviews (WISER) module titled “Getting Started: Part 58.”
Completing other modules is also recommended as it will allow participants to have an interactive experience during the training.
