Announcing Thriving Communities Technical Assistance

HUD is now accepting requests for technical assistance (TA) for the Thriving Communities Technical Assistance (TCTA) program. This funding will help local governments ensure housing needs are considered as part of their larger infrastructure investment plans, with a focus on disadvantaged communities.
The program is focused on units of general local government (UGLGs) that:
- Are receiving transportation funding, either directly or through a state pass-through, with priority given to those receiving competitive funds
- Want to address housing needs in disadvantaged communities in accordance with their housing and/or equity goals
- Want to work on at least one of the four TCTA topic areas, including land utilization, regulatory reform, preservation, and coordination
- Are committed to community engagement to ensure residents and businesses in disadvantaged communities benefit from the transportation investment
HUD is offering this technical assistance as part of the Thriving Communities Network, an interagency initiative among the Departments of Transportation, HUD, Energy, Commerce, and Agriculture, as well as the General Services Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. HUD will provide priority to jurisdictions with populations of less than 250,000 people.
Read the HUD press release for more information.
Request TA
Eligible UGLGs interested in receiving TA can submit their request using the TA Request Form. Requests will be reviewed as they are received, on a rolling basis, beginning on March 15. HUD will provide priority to jurisdictions with populations of less than 250,000 people.
Stay Up to Date on TCTA
In the coming months, resources, training, and guidance will be made available to support TCTA recipients and others interested in aligning housing and infrastructure investments.
