What screens in the project application must be completed to apply for new expansion projects?

In the 2019 CoC Program Competition, the following screens must be completed to apply for new expansion projects:

Sole Renewal Application: The project that is being expanded upon will need to be submitted into e-snaps. Applicants will need to fill out the “Renewal Expansion Screen” with the following information:

  1. Is this project application requesting to be part of a renewal expansion in the FY 2019 CoC Program Competition?  - Applicant should select “Yes”
  2. Is this the sole renewal (expansion) project or the combined renewal expansion project application? – Applicant should select “Sole Renewal”
    • 2a. Input the name and grant number of the combined renewal expansion – Applicant must input the Combined Renewal Expansion project Name and the Combined Renewal Expansion PIN number. The PIN number should match the current renewal project.

Sole New Application: Project applicants must complete the first question on Screen 3C Project Expansion Information:

  1. Is this new project application requesting a “Project Expansion” of an eligible Continuum of Care (CoC) Program renewal project of the same component type?  If “Yes,” enter the renewal PIN number (first 6 characters of the grant number, e.g., AL0101) and the renewal Project Name of project that will be expanded through this new project application. Answer the remaining questions on Screen 3C.

Combined Renewal Expansion Application: Applicants will need to submit a third application in addition to the current sole renewal and the sole new application. The third application will go through the renewal path, but will be the combined renewal expansion. This application will combine all project data and budgets of the renewal project and the new application. Additionally, applicants will need to fill out the “Renewal Expansion” screen for this application. It will be very similar to how Consolidations work.

  1. Is this project application requesting to be part of a renewal expansion in the FY 2019 CoC Program Competition?  - Applicant should select “Yes”
  2. Is this the individual renewal project or the combined renewal expansion project application? – Applicant should select “Combined Renewal Expansion

A table will appear for the applicant to fill out. The applicant will be required to input information about the renewal grant and new grant that are connected to the combined renewal expansion grant. Once the table is completed, the applicant will be required to confirm this information is accurate and can then move on to the rest of the application.

As a reminder, expansion projects are only eligible for CoC funded renewal projects. Non CoC-funded projects that wish to expand will need to apply as a separate new project.
