IDIS collects the appropriate information based on the combination of type of activity (matrix code in IDIS) and the national objective. Whether set up or accomplishment data will be lost depends on the data collection requirements of the new combination of the national objective and matrix code compared to the current one. Typically, if a matrix code is changed from two similar types of activities and there is no change in national objective, little or no data will be lost.
However, if the new matrix code/national objective combination changes significantly, there is a potential for data loss.
As a precaution, you can document the current set-up and accomplishment data entered for an activity by either a) taking screenshots of the appropriate screen or b) downloading a PR03 report before changing the Matrix Code.
