Housing Counseling FAQ
Q

If we counsel a client monthly and bill the first session to the comprehensive housing counseling grant as initial and the second session as a follow-up, when can we put them through for funding again? Does it have to be six months after the follow-up appointment or should there be six months between appointments?

A

An agency may charge time against the grant for counseling a client even if it is done on multiple occasions during the grant period. A client file should accurately document each session or work completed for a client and state the reason for the follow-up or need to receive periodic counseling.
