Due to the lapse in Congressional Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2019, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is closed. This website is supported by a cooperative agreement funded under a prior appropriation. Current functions will remain operational but no new functions will be added during the lapse in appropriations. For more information, see HUD Contingency Plan for Possible Lapse in Appropriations.
Housing Counseling FAQ

What is a client's housing counseling action plan?

Date Published: March 2015

Print ShareThis

The housing counselor prepares the client's housing counseling action plan after the screening interview. The plan states what the agency and the client will do to resolve the client's housing need or problem.

Note this is different from the agency's housing counseling work plan discussed in the “Performance Review” FAQ, What can an agency expect during a performance review? There, the housing counseling plan refers to the agency's delivery of housing counseling services. View the Client Action Plan: Required Elements and Best Practices resource for more information.
