A

Yes. The HIC and the PIT are integrally related. The sum total number of persons reported in emergency shelter, Safe Havens, and transitional housing projects in the PIT fields of the HIC must match the sum total of sheltered persons reported in the PIT count. Additionally, CoCs should conduct their annual housing inventory based on the CoC’s designated PIT count night and should conduct their annual housing inventory as close as possible to the designated PIT count night. Any discrepancies between the sum total number of sheltered persons counted on the HIC and the number of sheltered persons counted on the PIT will result in a validation error requiring the CoC to make corrections.
