A

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides guidelines for building Energy Star homes. Within these guidelines are checklists and tools that grantees and raters can use. An independent HERS (Home Energy Rating System) certified rater will use these checklists when inspecting an Energy Star home. Inspection checklists can be found on the Energy Star for New Homes Program Guidelines page.
